Europe - Here We Come

Less than a week until we leave the UK on our European summer adventure - it's like being in a Cliff Richards movie.

Unlike Cliff Richards - we're spending our last days finishing work, boxing up all our earthly possessions (16 boxes last count), creating and updating inventory and budgetary spreadsheets, spending time with our friends, doing all those things in London that we've been putting off until another day for the last ten years and generally finding it hard to believe that our time here has almost come to an end.

I wouldn't say that I'm glad to be leaving, and whilst I'm looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and family in NZ - I also wouldn't say I'm particularly excited about returning - if anything I'm apprehensive about what kiwi life might have in store having not experienced it for 10 years.

One thing on the horizon that is very exciting is our 3 months jaunt around Europe.

We're setting off on Monday the 6th of June in our 1.1 Litre Peugeot 206 - with an itinerary that takes in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, as well as extended visits to Crete in Greece, Puglia in Italy, and Galicia in Spain.

At the end of all that, we're back in the UK for a week (coincidentally when the football season starts again - shhhh, don't tell claire) before finally heading back to NZ via China and Australia.

Farewell London - we've had a swell 10 years, and we really are sad to be going, but look out Europe - here we come!
